6:00pm Canine Cooperative Care (In Person Class)
April 15, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
$120.00Have you & your dog struggled when it comes to things like calm nail trims or grooming? Do you dread vet visits that look more like rodeos or wrestling matches? Or, do you have a new dog or young pup & want to start on the right paw to reduce stress around these critical health care issues?
The Canine Cooperative Care class helps owners identify how to make handling for routine care procedures easier & less stressful for both you & your dog. In this class we’ll discover tools we can use to help our pets actively choose to take part in care procedures—from nail trims & tooth brushing to more extensive physical exams—& explore how to make care both at home & at the vet’s office less scary, less difficult & safer for all.
This class includes discussion, demonstrations & active training. Dogs for this class should be able to focus with minimal stress in a group class structure with other dog+owner teams nearby. This class is not appropriate for dogs who are reactive to other dogs or people, or who have already experienced significant trauma during vet visits to produce behaviors such as growling or snapping when handled by strangers.
The first week of class is a 1 hour human only orientation; please leave your pet at home for this presentation.
